A Best Buddy® program has been formed with students from Allentown Central Catholic High School. Best Buddies from the two schools are matched, creating one-to-one friendships between them. By introducing Best Buddies to Mercy Special Learning Center, the invisible line, that often separates those with disabilities from those without, is crossed.

Some of the activities our Buddies have experienced include: attending a Central Catholic football game, enjoying a Christmas Party with craft activities and goodies, Bowling, the now-famous yearly 'sleepover' (actually a three hour pajama party with karoke and movies!!) and the year always concludes with a baked ziti dinner shared by our buddies and their families.

Best Buddies® is a nonprofit 501(c )(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.
